Entering The Current
Introductory Yoga Teacher Training

Do you love yoga? Do you feel it changing your life? Do you feel inspired to help serve others through life changes and transitions?

Join us for öm time’s 300+ Introductory Teacher Training Cycle designed for those desiring to significantly deepen their personal practices and perhaps teaching yoga.

We will begin our Introductory Teacher Training Program in January 2008. This highly personalized program will span a full seven months time, meeting on scheduled weekends throughout. We offer a full seven months as a container for the training so that there is significant time to develop newly learned skills, cultivate personal goals and aspirations, and inquire into areas of deeper study. This introduction to teaching yoga is part of our broad ocean of Sagara, öm time’s Yoga Teacher Development and Continuing Education Programming.

You will be invited to explore the skills and yoga knowledge that will help direct yourself into the flow of a lifetime – teaching yoga and being of service and education to yourself and others.

Committing to a yoga teacher training is an enormous life decision. It demonstrates a deep capacity to integrate growth and change into one’s life. Congratulations for even reading this far!

The benefits to you of this öm time’s teacher training are:

*A personal and universal exploration into a rich variety of yoga philosophy, history, and experience. An example of ancient texts and yogic scriptures covered will be: The Ramayana, The Yoga Sutras, and the Bhagavad Gita.

* The opportunity to step into and remain strongly committed to your own yoga practice, education, and path.

* Personal goal setting, personal leadership, and effective time management.

* Public speaking skills. Development of your confidence to speak publicly with the voice of your heart, while guiding students through a well-sequenced series of postures, modifications, and adjustments.

* A working knowledge of traditional asanas, postural alignment, basic pranayama, proper sequencing and class planning. The style and form of yoga within öm time’s training sequencing is vinyasa flow yoga. We will learn to link well-developed postures, one into the next, while guiding a consistent current of breath, energy, and emotional body connection.

*The ability to observe a room of students, enhance postures verbally, demonstrate poses meaningfully, and adjust students physically and thoughtfully.

* A learned reference of effective modifications for an open level class should a student need a more gentle variation or demonstrate special needs.

* An ability to develop a themed class and to teach with a cohesive meaning through your selected sequence.

* An ability to both practice and teach the basics of meditation.

* A basic knowledge of energetic anatomy and the subtle body.

* A strong understanding of what it means to be a professional, ethical yoga professional.

* An introduction into the business of yoga: small yoga business administration, basic contracting, basic bookkeeping, marketing, and networking.

* A basic understanding of teaching to special needs: beginners, prenatal, postnatal, cancer recovery, elderly, and children.

* A strong ability to cultivate community, whether it is within the walls of a yoga studio or off the mat completely: karma yoga, conflict resolution, creative programming, and authentic leadership.

* A working knowledge of the various styles and forms within contemporary yoga, their similarities and differences.

* A deep resonance to the path of yoga and a strong awareness of the universe’s commitment to your growth and transformation.
